Frequently
asked questions
Q:
My friend would love to join the project. Could you please
send her a survey?
A:
We are frequently asked if we can accept new participants
to join the project. Unfortunately this is not possible. The
longitudinal nature of the project means we must follow the
health and lifestyles of the originally selected participants.
Q:
I am travelling at the moment. Can the survey be sent to me
overseas?
A:
Yes. If you have a stable mailing address, we are happy to
post the survey overseas, or to an Australian contact. Please
contact us to arrange your mail redirection.
Fifth
Survey for Mid-aged Women
Q:
How do I fill in the questions about fruit and vegetables
on page 20? I only eat certain ones when they are in season.
A:
We ask that you average the number of times you eat these
foods over the whole year. If you eat less than 52 servings
of that food over a year, you should answer 'less than once
a week'.
Q:
Question 51 on Page 15. It asks if any of these events have
happened 'more than 12 months ago'. What if it happened 25
years ago?
A:
You should answer 'yes' for that item.
Q:
I just an an operation 6 weeks ago and my health isn't as
it would normally be. Should I answer for how I really am
now or for what I'm usually able to do?
A:
You should answer for how your health is NOW. Perhaps you
would like to add a comment on the back page about why your
answers are so different this time.
