Professor Nancy Pachana
is a clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist with a variety of interests in ageing, including questions around cognitive decline in advancing age, quality of life and psychosocial factors, and psychiatric disorders including depression and anxiety. Her recent work on the project has focused on life events, social support networks, self-reported anxiety and depression, and self-reported memory complaints.
Associate Professor Pachana is a member of the ARC Ageing Well Network, and is an investigator on four collaborative NHMRC dementia grants examining various aspects of dementia. She is the current editor of the Australian Psychologist, the flagship applied journal of the Australian Psychological Society, of which she is a Fellow. She is the co-director, with Associate Professor Gerard Byrne, of the UQ Ageing Mind Initiative (www.uq.edu.au/ami), and serves on the Board of Directors of the International Psychogeriatric Association.
